APLIKASI “AR-GAMELAN” SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MENGENAL GAMELAN JAWA BERBASIS AUGMENTED REALIT

Indonesia is a diverse country rich in culture and tradition. One is the traditional Gamelan music instrument. But the general public as well as many current students are not familiar with Gamelan. It happens due to the unavailability of gamelan instruments in school and in the general public because of the high price of Gamelan. Hence the need for an application to know Gamelan instructional media that can improve student and general public interest in studying Gamelan by utilizing Augmented Reality and applied technology in Android mobile devices. Selection of material Gamelan music instrument focused on based lessons “Seni Budaya dan Keterampilan” at fifth grade of primary school. A kind of Gamelan are Javanese Gamelan. For marker will be applied in magic book. System development method used the Multimedia Development Life Cycle. For object modeling Javanese Gamelan using 3D Studio Max 2011, to build and package environments Agmented Reality application using Unity 3D and Vuforia SDK. The resulting application called “AR-Gamelan”. This application can display 3D objects and information from each of the Javanese gamelan instruments that can be sounded or played.
