In this world there is a lot of content in natural resources, among which was the rock and material cost. Rock and material cost has a very important benefit for human life. Studying rocks is an effort to take advantage of the existing natural resources. Which is to understand the history of a rock is formed, it is useful to help research petroleum, gas or other minerals. The learning model introduction in Indonesian rock mostly using books, so it only displays the image or the characteristics of rocks, Along with the progress of time, various technologies have been created for various needs in various fields. The model can be presented as a virtual object that can be viewed through a screen or display, making it easy to perform an object modeling and real time or every time. building recognition application using Augmented Reality technology rock android-based learning to be an alternative media. Data collection method used is the method of observation, questionnaires, and literature study. System development methodology in this study using the methodology MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle). The result of this study is recognition applications sedimentary rock, igneous and metamorphic using augmented reality technology in the form of Android-based learning media containing learning material on 3D objects rock, noise rock and general description of the object.
